Guardiola Mentions One Irreplaceable Name In City Squad: He Can Play In Six Positions

JAKARTA - Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola called Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva an irreplaceable figure in The Citizen's squad so far.

"Now he is irreplaceable because of what he does on the pitch. Sometimes he doesn't play because he is not at the level he should be," said Pep Guardiola, quoted from the club's official website, Sunday, November 21.

Pep Guardiola assessed that the best performance shown by Bernardo Silva occurred when Manchester City managed to collect 98 points when they won the English League in the 2018/2019 season.

According to Guardiola, it is difficult to find a player like Bernardo Silva in today's world because of the 27-year-old because he is a strong person and has a big competitive spirit.

"Sometimes he doesn't play because he's not at the level he should be. The year we got 98 points and won the league, he was in his best phase," said Guardiola.

"It's difficult to find a player like him in today's world. But a long and tired season will come. It's normal because he is strong and a big competitor and a nice guy."

The Spaniard added that Bernardo Silva was funny, lovable, and fun and Guardiola said the player was happy with his life in Manchester.

Guardiola explained that Bernardo Silva can currently play in six positions, namely defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, left-wing, striker, false nine, left me.

"He can play in six positions, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, wing (left), striker, false nine, wing other side, and he can play anywhere. He is smart, intuitive, and diligent," explained Guardiola.
