Following The Senior National Team, Young Garuda Departs To Turkey Today

JAKARTA - The Indonesian U-18 national team is scheduled to follow the senior national team flying to Turkey. The Garuda Muda squad will depart simultaneously on Monday, November 15.

The U-18 national team has held the fourth stage of the training camp (TC) in Jakarta since last Monday, November 8 under the tutelage of coach Shin Tae-yong.

However, because the South Korean coach first flew to Turkey with the senior team, Garuda Muda is ready to follow.

The main reason for the departure of the U-18 national team was because they were also under the direct direction of Shin Tae-yong. Because the coach will be in Turkey for one month guarding the senior national team, Garuda Muda is also brought in to participate in joint training.

Although later in Turkey the U-18 national team will train with seniors and be under the direct direction of Shin Tae-yong, they will be supervised by other coaches. Because, Shin Tae-yong had asked PSSI to involve the coach of the Indonesian U-16 national team, Bima Sakti, to guard Garuda Muda.

This step was deliberately carried out by Shin Tae-yong so that the preparation of the senior national team and the U-18 national team could run optimally without anyone being neglected.

Although it has set a schedule for the departure of the U-18 national team to Turkey, unfortunately PSSI still has not explicitly mentioned the official list of players who have been dispatched.

PSSI's Technical Director, Indra Sjafri, said that the players had not yet been announced because stage four of TC was still ongoing.

"As for how many and who the players are already there. But it will be released later and of course who will be chosen is according to what the coach said," said Indra to the media crew, Sunday, November 14.
