Enthusiastic To Be Able To Return To Strengthening The Indonesian National Team, Ezra Walian: I Will Work Hard

JAKARTA - Persib club striker, Ezra Walian, is enthusiastic about being able to strengthen the Indonesian national team again. Previously, the naturalized footballer from the Netherlands was prohibited from strengthening the Garuda squad at the FIFA event because the process of transferring the federation was problematic.

"I have waited a long time and am very happy to finally be here. I will work hard and be ready to give something to the national team," Ezra said, as reported by Antara, Friday.

The 24-year-old is optimistic that Indonesia can perform optimally in the two FIFA friendly matches in Turkey and the 2020 AFF Cup in Singapore.

Apart from having players with good abilities, the Garuda squad is considered by Ezra to be in the hands of the right coach.

The Indonesian national team tactician Shin Tae-yong, called Ezra, has a different training method from clubs in Indonesia.

"Of course it's different and I like it. I'm sure it can make the team's performance very good. I myself can adapt even though the way coach Shin trains is different from what is usually in Indonesia," said the footballer who had strengthened the Dutch U-17 national team.

The Indonesian national team itself departed for Turkey on Thursday, November 11 night to undergo preparations for the AFF Cup 2020. In Turkey, the Garuda squad will undergo two FIFA international test matches, namely against Afghanistan, Tuesday (16 November) and Myanmar, Thursday (25 November).

After Turkey, the national team will immediately go to Singapore to undergo the 2020 AFF Cup.

In that tournament, Indonesia, which is in Group B with Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos, will have their first match on December 9, 2021 against Cambodia, then face Laos on December 12, 2021, Vietnam three days later and Malaysia, December 19, 2021.

Regarding the national team agenda in Turkey and Singapore, Ezra Walian believes he and his colleagues can achieve maximum results and make it difficult for opponents.

"Afghanistan and Myanmar are good teams. Therefore we need to win against them. Then for Malaysia and Vietnam in the AFF Cup, they are tough opponents, but I feel they think so too. We will work hard to be the best." said Ezra.
