Indonesia Masters And Indonesia Open To Be Held At The End Of November, Players Must Be Quarantined Before Competing

JAKARTA - Badminton players who will participate in the international event Indonesia Masters 2021 and Indonesia Open 2021, which will be held in Bali at the end of this month, are required to undergo quarantine before competing.

General Chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Agung Firman Sampurna said the international players would arrive in Jakarta on November 9-10 to undergo temporary quarantine, coordinating with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to implement health protocols properly.

The players arrived in Jakarta first because international flights to Bali were not yet available, even though tourism on the Island of the Gods had opened.

"So we will still start from Jakarta, there will be a temporary quarantine later, we have had intensive communication with BNPB, from there it will be dispatched by charter plane entirely to Bali, later on fast track, there will be PCR immediately," said Agung, as quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, Agung said that during the tournament there would be routine PCR tests every two days. Meanwhile, in terms of security, the organizers have also collaborated with the TNI and Polri, in this case the local Kodam and Polda to guard the location in the match arena.

"Until the entrance from the beach front will not be reachable, so indeed those who are there we do a bubble system, once they enter they will not be able to leave the location, from the time they arrive until the event is over, the activities are indeed without spectators," said the Great.

PBSI has also provided a special place for doping tests if needed, and has communicated with the world badminton federation (BWF) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

"Lastly, we have also carried out a review by the Polda and Kodam, have carried out a review there, even later it will involve security from the pecalang culture suggested by the governor of Bali," said Agung.

The Indonesia Masters 2021 will be held from November 16-21, while the Indonesia Open 2021 will take place from November 23 to 28.
