JAKARTA - Comments from the Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Mochamad Iriawan, to keep Yunus Nusi as Secretary General (Secretary General) at least until the 2021 U-20 World Cup, triggered a polemic. In Article 61 paragraph 4 of the PSSI Statute, the PSSI Secretary General may not be a Congress Delegation and become a member of one of the PSSI Bodies.

Meanwhile, Yunus is the Chairperson of the East Kalimantan PSSI Asprov and a member of the Exco PSSI. The criticism came. A number of parties accused PSSI of acting at will and violating its own statutes.

Actually, Yunus Nusi was not the first person to be appointed as the successor of Queen Tisha Destria who resigned on April 13. Deputy Chairman of PSSI, Cucu Hidayat, told the media that the replacement for Ratu Tisha is Maaike Ira Puspita. Maarike, who has the status of Deputy Secretary General, was promoted.

However, this is a public conversation. There are many issues of nepotism in the PSSI. Understandably, Maaike is the sister-in-law of Ketum PSSI. PSSI, which has not issued an official statement regarding the replacement of Ratu Tisha, immediately issued a rebuttal.

Yunus Nusi said that PSSI has not chosen who will be the replacement for Ratu Tisha. The man who was born in Gorontalo said that all were still in process. He said he was surprised by Maaike's statement as the new PSSI Secretary General.

"That's not the procedure in PSSI," said Yunus Nusi on April 16.

Four days later, or to be precise on April 20, 2020, the PSSI Ketum issued a statement regarding the replacement of Ratu Tisha. Iriawan appointed Yunus Nusi as Acting Task (Plt) Secretary General of PSSI. He claimed that all Exco members had agreed with this decision.

"With his experience in football, organization, and abilities, it is very appropriate for me to choose Yunus Nusi as Acting Secretary General," said the man who is called Iwan Bule.

After several months of Yunus Nusi as Acting Secretary General, PSSI has not yet found a definitive figure. Later, the PSSI Ketum wanted to patent Yunus Nusi's status, which caused a polemic among the public. However, PSSI's Head of Media, Eko Rahmawanto, claimed that his party had not violated the statute.

"If later Pak Yunus is confirmed as Secretary General of PSSI definitively, he will definitely resign from the Exco PSSI member," said Eko.
