Mitsubishi Fuso Factory In Indonesia Ready To Produce Electric Trucks

JAKARTA - The Mitsubishi Fuso Production Center conducted by PT Krama Yudha Ratu Motor (KRM), has a fairly large area and even the factory is ready to assemble electric trucks.

This was revealed by the President Director of PT KRM Duljatmon. According to him, the current facilities are very flexible, including electric vehicles (smoking).

"Flexible and adaptive facilities for new products, including EVs. If it is needed, it means that principal orders for production because demand is there, we are ready," he said, when met during a factory visit, some time ago.

However, the man who is familiarly called Momon revealed that the production of electric trucks requires major adjustments. For example, there are components of batteries and electrical systems that of course require different safety and technology standards.

"Of course there is a process of adjustment or technology that must be studied and invested for it. But, in principle, KRM is ready because it is flexible," he added.

As is known, Mitsubishi Fuso has indeed marketed eCanter electric trucks in Indonesia. However, demand is still relatively minimal.

In 2024, the electric truck KTB became a distribution vehicle at PT Yusen Logistics Indonesia, and became a historic moment on the Fuso eCanter trip in Indonesia.

The electric truck packs a battery with a capacity of 83 kWh which is capable of traveling up to 140 km in one full charge, and will travel on distribution routes in the Jakarta area to Cikarang and Karawang.
