JAKARTA - Wuling Darion continues to show impressive performance since its presence in the Indonesian automotive market. This environmentally friendly technology MPV produced at the Wuling Motors factory, Cikarang, West Java is not only sought after by domestic consumers, but is also beginning to be directed for expansion into international markets.

The high public interest in Darion is evident when this model appears at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Wuling Motors Marketing Director Ricky Christian revealed that Darion's contribution to the exhibition was quite significant, both in terms of reservations and test drive activities.

"Darion, which is also very popular at this IIMS event, even contributed more than 30 percent and even more than 50 percent of the test drive," said Ricky Christian in South Jakarta, not long ago.

Since officially launching last year, Darion's sales trend has continued to rise. In fact, the total order for this vehicle has exceeded 4,000 units, reflecting a solid market acceptance.

"To be specific, it is about the latest product that we launched last year, namely Darion. Darion has reached sales of more than 4,000 units," said Ricky.

If you look at the wholesales data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), the number of units that have been sent to dealers has reached 3,913 units since the beginning of distribution.

Success in the domestic market is an important asset for Wuling to bring Darion to the global stage. In the near future, this model will begin to be marketed to a number of countries, including Brunei Darussalam and Hong Kong.

"We also convey that this product from Darion, this product from Indonesia will also be marketed in foreign markets, namely in our neighboring country Brunei Darussalam, then the second one is also in South Asia, namely in Hong Kong," he added.

In terms of sales composition, pure electric variants (EV) are still the main contributor. In the period from January to February 2026, Darion EV was sold 1,806 units, while the PHEV version recorded 166 units, so a total of 1,975 units.

Meanwhile, throughout 2025, Darion EV sales were 1,706 units and PHEV 232 units for a total of 1,938 units. This figure confirms that consumer interest in pure electric vehicles still dominates compared to hybrid technology.
