Suzuki recalls Grand Vitara in Indonesia, here's the source of the problem

PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) announced the implementation of a Product Quality Update campaign or recall for certain Grand Vitara models. Owners of vehicles with certain criteria are encouraged to conduct quality checks on the Speedometer Assy Comb component at the Official Suzuki Workshop.

This step was taken to ensure that all units circulating in Indonesia meet Suzuki's global safety standards and provide long-term satisfaction for customers.

Based on internal data collection, this program targets inspections of 148 Grand Vitara units within the production period of December 2024 to April 2025.

The main focus of the examination lies on the fuel level indicator and warning lamp components on the Speedometer Assy Comb which have the potential to experience accuracy deviations in providing information to drivers.

Asst Aftersales Department Head of Service PT SIS Hariadi, said the company informed the need for quality inspection on the Grand Vitara speedometer components.

"Considering that the units marketed in Indonesia are also part of the global production, Suzuki Indonesia feels the need to immediately carry out this Product Quality Update campaign to maintain the safety and quality standards of our products. Customers don't need to worry, because the Suzuki Official Workshop network is ready to inspect and handle the unit immediately," he said in an official statement received, Thursday, January 29.

Technically, the potential for inaccuracies in these components may cause a difference between the information displayed in the speedometer cluster and the actual fuel remaining in the tank. This will certainly reduce user comfort if left without handling.

In addressing this, the inspection will be carried out thoroughly using standardized procedures. If there is a discrepancy in quality standards, the components will be immediately replaced with new ones for free as a form of full responsibility of the company.

Suzuki ensures that this process is very efficient and will not take up much time for customers. In the initial inspection stage to ensure the condition of the vehicle, technicians need a process of less than 30 minutes. If the technician finds a condition that requires replacement of the Speedometer Assy Comb component, the total maximum processing time is projected to last only about less than 1 hour.
