Geely Assures to Bring Zeekr and Lynk & Co Cars to Indonesia

JAKARTA - Chinese automotive giant Geely is getting serious about fighting in the Indonesian market. The company is preparing to bring its premium sub-brands, Zeekr and Lynk & Co, to the country by mid-2026.

The presence of Zeekr and Lynk & Co is considered to be a complete package for Geely to attack the premium EV market through Zeekr as well as modern sporty SUVs/NEVs through Lynk & Co. On a global level, Geely is indeed streamlining its business structure to be more efficient.

For the Indonesian market, the name Zeekr itself is actually not entirely new because the brand was present at the GJAW 2024 event. But over time there is no clarity about the brand in the country, and now Geely has confirmed that Zeekr and Lynk & Co will market their cars in the country.

"We also see high consumer interest in Zeekr and Lynk & Co vehicles. Both will enter Indonesia in 2026," said Sales & Channel Development Director of Geely Auto Indonesia Constantinus Herlijoso at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Tuesday, January 20.

On the same occasion, Evin Ye as Vice President (VP) of Geely Automobile International Corporation confirmed that the two brands would enter Indonesia this year. However, he could not break down the details of what it was, including what models would be marketed here.

"There will be two products for this brand (Zeekr), so please wait. Just like Zeekr, Lynk & Co will see how the public demand is," he said.

Geely's expansion is in line with the company's goal to scale up global sales and strengthen its NEV portfolio. With Indonesia as one of the largest automotive markets in Southeast Asia, the move to bring Zeekr and Lynk & Co has the potential to be an important strategy for Geely to re-establish its presence in the regional market.

If this plan goes ahead, competition in the Indonesian modern EV and SUV market is sure to get fiercer in 2026. The public is also presented with a variety of cars from Chinese manufacturers that are currently moving aggressively in the automotive market.
