JAKARTA - Subaru fans will be treated to a new experience at the 2029 Tokyo Auto Salon, especially from Subaru's performance division, STI, which will showcase three new models.

Quoting from the Drive website, Monday, December 5, Subaru Tecnica International (STI) will showcase the WRX sedan version, Levorg, also known as the WRX Sportswagon and Impreza that have been upgraded.

The three will be special editions that will only be sold in Japan, but unlike some of the legendary STI special editions in the past, the 2026 STI trio offers a more subtle approach to the STI formula.

For example, the Levorg STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance is built on the Levorg STI Sport EX variant marketed in Japan, with additional features including a black package for the lower front bumper, mirror covers, 18-inch alloy wheels, and antenna. STI emblems and STI exhaust with a muffler tip decorated with the STI logo are also included.

In the interior, the Levorg STI Sport R-Black Edition is equipped with Recaro front seats with ultrasuede upholstery. and yellow perforated inserts that complement the Sunrise Yellow exterior.

Under the hood, the Levorg STI Sport R model is powered by the same 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that produces 202kW of power, but with 375 Nm of torque.

A similar series of changes and improvements will be applied to the WRX S4 STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance.

Again, this special edition will feature the Sunrise Yellow paint, 18-inch black rims and black finishing touches for the mirror covers and antenna. With the lower body kit and black wheel arch molding that is still maintained from the regular WRX.

The interior is also equipped with Recaro seats with yellow perforated inserts and suede-like trim on the instrument panel. Just like the Levorg, the WRX S4 for Japan has the same 2.4-liter turbo engine configuration, namely 375Nm.

The third model that STI has upgraded has a less sporty pedigree than the previous two models, however, STI has turned its attention to the Impreza hatchback.

The ST-H STI Performance Edition Impreza with Plus Package follows the same basic theme, with a black body kit, black rims and mirror caps, and what Subaru calls a 'sporty yet casual design'.

Unlike the Levorg and WRX, the Impreza ST-H STI Performance Edition does not use special paint colors and retains its standard interior without Recaro seat upgrades.
