RMA Indonesia Delivers Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up to BNPB for Disaster Operations

JAKARTA - Assistance for natural disasters that have hit several regions in Indonesia continues to arrive from automotive brands, the latest RMA Indonesia as the official distributor of Mahindra vehicles, doing the same thing.

RMA handed over a unit of Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up car to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). This vehicle will immediately be used as a tactical evacuation operational car to help people affected by flash floods and landslides.

Country Manager of RMA Indonesia, Toto Suharto, said that this support is an integral part of the company's commitment to provide a positive impact for the community.

"This initiative to hand over the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up unit to BNPB is an important part of an important program, which has consistently focused on humanitarian support and disaster management," he said in an official statement received, Sunday, December 14.

Furthermore, he said, collaboration between the private sector and the government is a crucial element in strengthening national readiness.

"We believe that strategic partnerships like this are critical to delivering a faster and more effective disaster response," he added.

The vehicle was chosen because of its proven reputation as a very reliable and tough off-road vehicle (rugged). With a capable 4x4 drive system, high ground clearance, and supported by a powerful engine and sturdy chassis construction.

The Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up is expected to be able to penetrate roads that are severely damaged, muddy, and isolated areas due to the impact of floods and landslides, which are generally not passable by ordinary vehicles. With this capability, the units that are handed over will be immediately dispatched to disaster locations in North Sumatra.
