JAKARTA - Ford must recall 1,487 fully-sized transit commercial vehicles produced between 2024 and 2025.

Based on a report from Drive, quoted on Friday, December 12, the recall was caused by a series of main body cables, which may have been friction with the transmission house, causing damage that could result in a short circuit.

Worse, the damage caused by the above problems could potentially cause vehicle fires if not repaired. Of course it is dangerous for users and other dealers around.

"Due to production defects, the main series of body cables can rub against the transmission house and become damaged. If this happens, it can cause a short circuit that causes a vehicle fire," the report reads.

Responding to the issues above, Ford Australia will contact affected vehicle owners in writing, and ask them to arrange service promises with dealers.

The goal is for their vehicles to be repaired and the company will not charge the user with the problem. In addition, the owner can contact the Australian Ford customer service center, to inspect the vehicle.
