BYD Atto 1 Terlaris, Defeats Sales Of Innova And Avanza In November 2025

JAKARTA BYD Atto 1 again recorded its dominance as the best-selling car in Indonesia in November 2025. This tiny electric car shot away from its competitors, including Toyota Kijang Innova and Daihatsu Gran Max.

Based on data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) viewed Thursday, December 11, Atto 1 recorded distribution of 8,333 units throughout November.

This figure did fall from October which reached 9,396 units, but still enough to maintain the top position. The contribution is even very significant, 87 percent of the total BYD distribution, while the rest has only been contributed by other models.

With this achievement, Atto 1 is also the only electric car that is included in the list of national best-selling cars. Below it, Toyota Kijang Innova, which usually dominates the market, has to settle for second place with a distribution of 4,475 units.

Meanwhile, Daihatsu Gran Max is tight in third place after posting 4,421 units, making him a strong rival despite competing directly with the passenger car segment. The fourth position is occupied by Toyota Avanza with a distribution of 3,912 units, followed by Suzuki Carry pickup which fills fifth in the list of best-selling cars in November 2025.

Overall, the national wholesales in November reached 74,252 units, up slightly 0.3 percent compared to October. Meanwhile, retail sales grew more significantly, namely 6.1 percent to 79,310 units.

From this data, Toyota is still leading the market as a whole, although the pressure from Chinese brands, especially BYD, is increasingly being felt. On the other hand, Honda and Mitsubishi's performance looks shrinking amid the intense competition of the national automotive market.

For the January period of November 2025, wholesales were recorded at 710,084 units, down 9.6 percent compared to last year and retail figures fell 8.4 percent to 739,977 units. With this trend, sales can achieve Gaikindo's target at the end of the year which was lowered to 780 units in a row.
