Followed By Song Plus And Seagull, BYD Dolphin Reaches 1 Million Global Sales Units

JAKARTA The electric hatchback of BYD's mainstay compactification, BYD Dolphin, which is also marketed in Indonesia, has just made a phenomenal achievement by breaking the cumulative sales figure of one million units globally.

This milestone not only confirms Dolphin's popularity in the global market, but also makes it the fastest model in the A0 sedan segment in China to reach 1 million sales units.

Dolphin is the third model of the Ocean Series BYD lineup that managed to reach a milestone of 1 million units, following the extraordinary success of Song Plus (SUV) and Seagull (BYD Attto1).

CnEVPost reported on Wednesday, December 3, this good news was confirmed directly by Zhang Zhuo, Head of Ocean Series BYD Sales, via uploads on Weibo's social media yesterday.

"Dolphin is the fastest A0 segment sedan in China to reach one million units sold," said Zhang Zhuo, highlighting the speed of consumer adoption of this model.

Dolphin, which first launched in China on August 29, 2021, played an important role as the first model to build on the advanced BYD e-platform platform 3.0.

Offered with a 45.12 kWh or 60.48 kWh battery pack, Dolphin produces a CLTC range of 410-520 kilometers. Meanwhile, the price in Indonesia itself is marketed from IDR 369 million to IDR 429 million.

This model continues to be the main contributor to BYD's sales, accounting for 30,971 units in November, or about 6.45 percent of BYD's total monthly sales of 480,186 units. Cumulatively, Dolphin has sold 214,895 units from January to November.

Its global success is further strengthened by Dolphin's launch in foreign markets, making it a recognized international model.
