Apart From EVs And Hybrids, Geely Also Brought A Gasoline Car In Her Debut At GJAW 2025

JAKARTA Geely Auto Indonesia debuted at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW). This Chinese manufacturer carries the theme Bringing World-Class Mobility to Everyone's Lives in this event by presenting a row of cars with various engine options.

The lines of products purchased are quite complete, ranging from pure electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), to conventional gasoline-fueled machines (ICEs). Each model appears with a strong visual character.

Geely EX2 comes with a cheerful pastel color, while Geely EX5 carries a futuristic theme highlighting technology and a touch of premium comfort. Starray EM-i looks different through natural inspiration which is reflected in its color palette and design.

Not to forget, Coolray as a gasoline-engine SUV complements the lineup of models on display. Geely's presence at GJAW and also her newest cars, as a commitment to expand her product portfolio in Indonesia.

"We continue to expand innovation and technology across Geely's product lines in various segments, as well as prove global power through portfolios relevant to the Indonesian market," said Sales & Channel Development Director Geely Auto Indonesia Constantius Herlijoso.

"We will introduce two new ICE models next year, as part of the seven-model target until 2027 on the Geely product development roadmap," he continued, quoted Monday, November 24.

At this event, Geely EX2 officially opened a pre-book period in Indonesia. This compact-formed EV was developed specifically for urban mobility needs, carrying an attractive design with a choice of fresh color that targets young consumers.

Geely EX2 is equipped with a distance of up to 395 kilometers, a trunk front (frunk) with a capacity of 70 liters. Then a rear-wheel drive configuration (RWD) that promises the sensation of driving is more agile and responsive.

Then there is Geely EX5 which is a premium electric SUV, presents elegant design, powerful performance, and smart technology. This model is capable of traveling up to 495 kilometers in one charge and has equipped with 13 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level 2 features.

In terms of safety, Geely EX5 uses a high standard steel body structure and has won five-star certifications from Euro NCAP and ANCAP, confirming Geely's global security standards.

For the hybrid segment, Geely brings in Starray EM-i which has now been assembled locally in Indonesia. The PHEV SUV relies on EM-i Super Hybrid technology which is claimed to have the world's highest thermal efficiency for bulk production gasoline engines, reaching 46.5 percent.

Not only that, its fuel consumption is claimed to be able to penetrate 83 kilometers per liter, with a total range of more than 1,000 kilometers. This combination makes Starray EM-i an option for consumers who want high efficiency without sacrificing performance.

Meanwhile, Geely Coolray is predicted to only be sold in Indonesia next year. If you look at the specifications in its home country, Coolray has a length of 4,380 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, a height of 1,615 with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

This car is equipped with a 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 1,499 cc (1.5L) which can produce 172 HP and 290 Nm torque power. This performance is channeled through automatic transmission of 7 accelerated Dual Clunch Transmission (DCT) which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/hour in just 7.6 seconds.
