BMW IX3 To MINI Paul Smith Edition Officially Listed On Japan

JAKARTA BMW Group is ready to become one of the main magnets on the Japan Mobility Show 2025 featuring the lineup of future cars from BMW and MINI. In this event, BMW also launched several launches for new cars.

The inaugural launch of BMW iX3 is in the main spotlight of this event. This electric SUV model is the first of the Neue Classe generation, as well as marking BMW's new direction towards sustainable mobility based on cutting-edge technology.

BMW iX3 appeared with a revolutionary design and a new BMW Panoramic iDrive operating system that presents a futuristic digital experience. Supported by the sixth generation BMW eDrive, this car is capable of increasing the distance to 372 kilometers in just 10 minutes of charging.

Not only that, the two-way charging system allows this car to function as a power bank. Production for the Japanese market will begin in March 2026, while sales are scheduled for the second half of the same year.

BMW also affirmed its commitment to the diversity of energy sources by presenting BMW iX5 Hydrogen, a hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle that will be produced from 2028.

Developed with Toyota Motor Corporation, this third-generation technology promises higher efficiency, longer range, and greater power, with a more compact system design.

Then the car that was leaked earlier, namely the release of MINI Paul Smith Edition, became a symbol of a meeting between classical design and the spirit of modernity. British designer Paul Smith is back working with MINI to create a special edition that will debut in Tokyo.

Appearing with the exclusive Nottingham Green colors, Paul Smith's signature signature stripe' accent, and 18-inch Night Flash Spokes black wheels, this car carries a classic aura. This edition comes in the 3-Door, 5-Door, and Convertible MINI Cooper variants, with the full electricity version going to be marketed globally after debuting in Japan.

"It's very rare for us to see two British design icons collaborating like this, and it's amazing that our partnership has been going on for years. MINI Paul Smith Edition is truly an extraordinary privilege and opportunity. New colors and unexpected new details, which would be a fun surprise," Paul Smith said on the official BMW website, quoted Wednesday, October 29.

Fans of speed get special treats through the launch of a special edition BMW M2 CS. Carrying a six-cylinder engine with M TwinTurbo technology with 530 hp power, this compact sports car is capable of accelerating from 0100 km/hour in just 3.8 seconds.

BMW also introduced the AirConsole interactive entertainment feature, which allows passengers to play games directly on the vehicle screen using their phones as controllers. Some iconic games like UNO Car Party!, Hot Wheels: Xtreme Overdrive, and PAC-MAN Championship Edition are ready to present entertainment when the car is parked or charging.
