JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Industry continues to strive to continue to increase cooperation with global scale industry players, one of which is Xiaomi. He hopes that the technology giant from China can invest in electric vehicles in the country.

Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita held a bilateral meeting with the Associate Government Affairs Director of Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd., Jon Dove in Shanghai, China, last weekend.

On this occasion, Minister of Industry Agus expressed his appreciation to Xiaomi for its investment and contribution in building a smartphone and television industry ecosystem in Indonesia. Now, Agus hopes that Xiaomi can also invest in the electric vehicle sector.

The government wants Xiaomi SU7 to be brought to Indonesia after selling well in its home country. With the Xiaomi electric car, it is hoped that people will have many choices of environmentally friendly cars.

"We know that Xiaomi has launched high-performance electric vehicle products, namely Xiaomi SU7. We encourage Xiaomi to explore investment in the environmentally friendly vehicle sector in Indonesia," said Agus, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Industry, Tuesday, October 14.

Xiaomi SU7 itself is one of the best-selling electric cars since launching in China. The car, which is sold at a price starting at IDR 400 million, has a length of 4,997 meters, a width of 1,963 meters high, 1,455 meters and a wheelbase of 3 meters.
