Song Plus Officially Injected Dead, BYD Prepares Sealion 06 As Successor

JAKARTA - BYD has stopped selling the popular Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Song Plus in China to optimize its fresher line of products, is this the right move?

Citing from the CNevpost page, Monday, October 13, the news initially appeared on social media and the automotive giant from China responding that Sealion 06 served as Song Plus's successor, and the stop was a normal product transition.

Thus, cars that are in Song's dynasty and have won sales of 1.5 million units will be abolished in the local market. As well as simplifying the Dynasty series that currently exists.

In the details of BYD's monthly sales, Song's family figures represent the combined sales of Dynasty series models including Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i, in addition to Ocean series models including Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i.

Sealion 06, which was launched in July 2025, will serve as a direct successor. It is available as a plug in hybrid (DM-i) and a full electric (EV) model. Prices range from 139,800 to 156,800 yuan or the range of Rp325-365 million for the PHEV version

Meanwhile, for pure electricity, this car is priced at 143,800 to 163,800 yuan or around Rp355 to Rp381 million.

Sealion 06 is slightly larger than Song Plus, measuring at 4,810 mm in length, 1,920 mm wide, 1,675 mm high with a wheel axis distance of 2,820 mm. The car features a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen, a front instrument display, and a 100 BYD DiLink infotainment system. Standard equipment includes a manned and ventilated front seat, a 1.73 meter panoramic roof and a Dynaudio audio system.
