Hyundai Prepares Three New Cars, Including Ioniq 9?

JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia has confirmed that there will be more new products to be launched. Not even one, there are three that are still being formulated.

This was revealed by the Chief Operating Officer of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia Fransiscus Soerjopranoto. He said, actually until the end of that year there were three more and the three of them were from different powertrains with ICE, hybrid to EV.

"We are in the open because there is a government policy that will soon be issued in 2026," he said, when met on the sidelines of the MoU Signing event between Hyundai and Persija Jakarta.

Unfortunately, he did not describe in more detail what model would be launched. Previously, Hyundai had registered the Hyundai Ioniq 9 NJKB (Motorized Vehicle Selling Rate) which was registered on the Jakarta Samsat of IDR 699 million.

However, this is the basic value for tax calculations and does not include sales tax (PPNBM), logistics costs, and dealer margins. This means that the price will certainly increase.

When asked about the launch of Ioniq 9, he said nothing was certain.

"But back again, I said it depends on the rules of the government".

"So any scheme is better, it encourages carbon tax to make it even better, then whether it encourages fuel efficiency to be better. Now we will prioritize that direction so we are waiting for it from the government," he added.

So, Hyundai is still considering what model will be launched until the end of the year in Indonesia, while waiting for the latest regulations from the government for 2026.
