Xpeng Recalls Nearly 48 Thousand P7+ Models In China, This Turns Out To Be The Problem

JAKARTA - Xpeng made a recall or recall for the P7+ model in China. This refers to the official website of China's State Administration for Market Regulation.

For information, X Peng P7+ is quite well-selling in China. This model reached 31,528 orders on the first day of launch in November 2024, and with more than 67,000 units delivered until the end of July 2025.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Monday, September 15, Xpeng New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. submitted a withdrawal plan in State Administration for Market Regulations, in accordance with the terms of 'Regulations on Administration for the Withdrawal of Defected Car Products' and 'Action of Steps for Regulation on Administration of Withdrawal of Defected Car Products'.

The recall began to be effective today, and began for a total of 47,490 P7+ Xpeng vehicles produced between August 20, 2024, and April 27, 2025, with the recall number S2025M0142V.

The withdrawal was due to poor contact on the hardness of the power steering motor sensor which could cause fluctuations in the steering wheel sensor signal, causing the steering error warning light to turn on and the loss of power steering assistance. This can certainly pose a security risk.

Xpeng will replace the wheel building which is increased for free for all affected vehicles, thereby eliminating safety risks.

Xpeng will also notify relevant vehicle owners of the recall details via mobile app push notifications, phones, and other methods.

In specifications, the Xpeng P7+ has a dimensions of 5056 mm long, 1937 mm wide, 1512 mm high, and 3000 mm wheelbase, providing a larger and more stable look. The car builds on the SEPA 2.0 Xpeng platform, which offers better efficiency and flexibility.

All P7+ versions are rear-wheeled and equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with the cheapest variant getting a 60.7 kWh unit that allows a range of 602 km according to CLTC standards. It drives an electric motor with a power of 245 PS (241 hp or 180 kW) and a torque of 450 Nm, which produces a time of 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
