JAKARTA The BMW Group has just set a new record with the sale of their electrified vehicles. The company managed to sell three million units of vehicles with electrification drive, an achievement marked by the submission of a BMW Series 3 plug-in hybrid model from a factory in M\"unchen to a customer.

This achievement was supported by a significant increase in sales of pure electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models in the first half of 2025.

"With the delivery of the third million electrification vehicles, the BMW Group has reached another important milestone that underscores the fact that electrification vehicles are a fundamental component of our technology neutral product portfolio," BMW AG Management Board Member for Customers, Brands, Sales Jochen Goller, said in an official broadcast on the BMW Group website, Thursday, August 28.

He added that more than one in four BMW Group vehicles sold in the first half of 2025 were electrified.

Europe As The Largest Market And Growth Of Plug-in Hybrids

Europe is the largest market for BMW Group electrification vehicles. More than 60 percent of the company's global electrification vehicle shipments are aimed at the continent. In fact, the share of electrified vehicles in total sales of BMW Groups in Europe has exceeded 40 percent.

In particular, BMW's plug-in hybrid model shows increasing popularity, with sales soaring significantly in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year.

In July, the BMW Group also announced the achievement of sales of 1.5 million units of pure electric vehicles. The 1.5 millionth unit is a pure electric MINI Countryman from the Leipzig plant, which is shipped to customers in Portugal. If all the 1.5 million pure electric vehicles that have been delivered by BMW Group since the launch of BMW i3 are lined up, the distance will stretch more than 6,500 kilometers, roughly as far from M\"unchen to New York City.

The company's strategy has consistently focused on future mobility that carries the concepts of electricity, digital, and circulars. Currently, customers can choose more than 15 pure electric models across the group brand, as well as more than ten plug-in hybrid models.

This portfolio includes an updated BMW iX, which offers a range of up to more than 700 kilometers according to WLTP standards. With this commitment, the BMW Group strengthens its position as a pioneer in electric mobility, a foundation that has been built more than 50 years ago.
