Toyota Seriously Develops Bioethenol Vehicles, Already Tested 400 Thousand Kilometers

JAKARTA - In order to help the government to reduce the import rate of fuel oil (BBM), PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has a strong commitment through the development of vehicles that can use Bioethenol fuel.

"Toyota is committed to supporting government programs," said Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), Jap Ernando Demily at ICE BSD, Tangerang, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 25.

To date, they are testing dozens of vehicles using bioethenol fuel. In the test, Toyota was already running a vehicle up to 400 thousand kilometers and claimed that the vehicle had no significant problems.

In building a greener auto industry, Toyota is committed to being quite positive in reviving vehicles that are more environmentally friendly, not only from the electrification system.

In the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia Auto Show (GIIAS), the Japanese manufacturer displayed two vehicles using bioethenol such as Toyota Avanza and also Toyota Innova Zenix.

Toyota machines are also claimed to have been designed in such a way as to be able to use the fuel mixture without requiring a significant change in specifications.

Toyota hopes that bioethenol can become one of the main pillars in the transition to the use of renewable energy in Indonesia.

Toyota also believes that the use of bioethenol fuel does not only have a direct impact on the environment. Bioethenol technology is believed to be able to grow the economy of the Indonesian people because it can reduce dependence on imported fuels.

The reduction in import fuel consumption is believed to provide opportunities for local partners to grow together in driving agriculture to provide the needed supplies.
