Amid Market Pressure, Sales Of Former BMW Astra Cars Still Grow Positively

JAKARTA In the midst of the high price of new cars, many prospective vehicle owners in Indonesia have started to look at used cars as an alternative that is more affordable but still of high quality.

Even though it has been owned before, used cars are still in demand, especially if they are offered with excellent conditions guarantees. Some dealers even include warranties like a new car like BMW Astra did.

As one of BMW's official dealers in Indonesia, BMW Astra sees the used car market as an increasingly promising opportunity, especially when new car sales are under pressure.

This was revealed by BMW Astra Chief Executive Sanfrantis Tanu who said the used car market currently has a large population in Indonesia and is likely dominated by the first buyer of BMW vehicles.

"Maybe they chose to take the Used Car because they might be the first time buyers for BMW, right. Like 'wah, don't dare to buy it first, want to try it first'. Now, we can facilitate it," said Sanfrantis when met by reporters in Cilandak, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

He added that the former company's car business was increasing thanks to a number of attractive offers with some of them having a warranty period so customers don't have to worry about maintenance.

"Moreover, the car that we sell Used Car, we do have a warranty too, so they don't have to worry about that. So if customers have complaints, we'll take care of it," added Sanfrantis.

Unfortunately, he did not want to reveal the used car data sold at BMW Astra. However, Sanfrantis hopes that the company's Used Car sales can run stably amid challenging market conditions.

"I can't mention the numbers here. However, this is a challenge for us in our business to continue to increase," he concluded.
