Geely Expansion To England, EX5 Becomes The First Piles

JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from China, Geely is again expanding its market on the blue continent by immediately launching its first car on the British market.

The date from Autocar, Friday, July 4, the first model to pave the land of king Charles is EX5. This car has a compact crossover that will compete with models such as BYD Atto 3 and Kia EV3.

Specifications for the UK market have yet to be confirmed, but Geely said the EX5 has been assessed by Lotus Engineering to evaluate whether it needs to be reset for the European highway.

The manufacturer also targets fleet buyers to be expected to be a "key segment" for the model. Deliveries are planned to start between October and the end of the year with more models following early next year.

This is Geely's concrete move to penetrate new markets for rapid growth. Another step this automaker has taken is to add more than 300 dealers and non-China service centers to its global portfolio by the end of 2025.

Geely also markets EX5 in the Indonesian market with a front-wheeled electric motorbike that has a power of up to 160 kW and a torque of up to 320 Nm. With this force, this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 6.9 seconds for the Pro variant and 7.1 seconds for the Max type.

Meanwhile, EX5 has a 60.22 kWh capacity battery that can provide a distance of up to 495 km on Pro and 490 km for the Max variant.

Armed with the GAE Architecture platform developed by Geely, the car can charge from 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

The brand sells this compact SUV at a price starting from IDR 475 million for Pro type and IDR 515 million for Max type for the Indonesian market.
