JAKARTA - Japanese automotive manufacturers are starting to seriously work on electric vehicles even though they are said to be late globally, but the increasingly booming electric cars in European and other areas could be the trigger.

For example, Honda has launched electric cars e:Ny1 for a number of European markets as well as other manufacturers such as Toyota which gave birth to the latest bZ4X, Urban Cruiser, to C-HR+.

The Eclipse Cross will be available in two battery options, namely the long-range which will launch in the fourth quarter of this year and mid-range will be launched in 2026.

According to Mitsubishi, the car will have a spacious interior and is equipped with a number of advanced technologies, aiming to meet the needs of today's families.

The car will have a distinctive design language from the manufacturer, namely "Dynamic Shield" highlighting futuristic elements and urban mobility developed by the Mitsubishi Motors European Design division centered near Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
