Not Wanting To Lose To Other Chinese Brands, Geely Expands Market To Poland

JAKARTA - Geely does not want to lose to other Chinese manufacturers in expanding its market globally by intending to expand on European soil.

The company based in Hangzhou, China will enter the Polish market by launching two models consisting of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV).

Reported by CarNewsChina, Wednesday, May 14, the first model to be launched is similar to Indonesia, namely EX5, followed by a C-SUV segment car driven by PHEV.

Both models use the advanced GAE modular architecture. EX5 is expected to pave the country in the third quarter of this year.

It is known, Geely EX5 apart from Indonesia, is also available in Thailand, Mexico, Australia, and much more. In addition, Malaysian car manufacturer Proton sells Geely EX5-based eMas 7 SUVs in the local market.

The second model has yet to be disclosed. However, there are indications that Geely will bring the Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i to the Polish market.

In the Polish market, Geely will work closely with Jameel Motors, who serves as a distributor in this white and red-flagged country.

Jameel Motors is a car distributor founded in Saudi Arabia in 1945. Apart from its home country, the company is currently operating in Algeria, China, Egypt, India, Japan, Morocco, Monaco, and Turkey.

Jameel Motors is trusted as a distributor for Geely Auto's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) line in Poland. Previously, the company had been trusted in sending a number of vehicles from various brands, such as Toyota, Lexus, MG, GAC, and Changan.

Geely Auto sees Poland as a potential market, as sales of the BEV segment grew by 41 percent in February 2025.
