Nissan Rumored To Partner With Foxconn, This Is NMDI's Response

JAKARTA - In recent times, a technology company from Taiwan called Foxconn has reportedly been aggressively looking for partners in the development of future electric vehicles.

Foxconn is reportedly planning to bring electric vehicles together with one of the manufacturers from Japan. The name that is sticking out to the surface is Nissan.

Of course, this partnership has the potential to occur in the future considering that Nissan failed to seek a partnership with Honda and Mitsubishi in seeking merger cooperation.

This partnership has the potential to make manufacturers launch many electric vehicles in various markets, one of which is Indonesia. So, how does Nissan Motor Distribution Indonesia (NMDI) respond to this?

NMDI's Head of Sales & Product Planning, Bima Aristantyo, said that his party could not comment much on this because the news was only a rumor and had not been officially announced by the relevant parties.

"We ourselves cannot comment further on the cooperation between Nissan and Foxconn. We also know from the media that has only gone up for a few days. Later, if there is information on the good news, we will share with media friends," Bima said when met by reporters at a halal bihalal event with the media in Senopati, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 15.

However, he ensured that Nissan would soon expand its electrification vehicles in Indonesia in the near future. However, he has not been able to reveal more details regarding the model.
