This Is A Target Toyota Indonesia Wants To Achieve This Year

JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturer from Japan, Toyota is still dominates the Indonesian automotive market by obtaining sales of 46,479 units in the first two months of this year or contributing 34.6 percent market share.

Not only leading the list of best-selling four-wheeled vehicle brands, this manufacturer also dominates the highest number of export volumes with a total of 39,000 units in the January-February 2025 period, which is a combination of pure ICE and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) products.

Nevertheless, Toyota has high optimism in terms of exports. In fact, they already have a target to achieve this year.

Deputy President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), Bob Azam, said that his party has a target of reaching the cumulative export figure of 3 million units since starting the delivery of cars abroad since 1987.

"In terms of Indonesia's automotive exports, God willing, this year we will reach 3 million units. We hope to hold a ceremonial to celebrate this achievement and give encouragement to the national automotive industry," said Bob during a breaking of the fast with the media in Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 18.

Per two months in 2025, Bob emphasized that Toyota's cumulative export figures collected reached 2.8 million units. Thus, manufacturers need to pursue another 200,000 units to obtain this milestone.

"This is proof that Indonesia is able to export high-tech and labor-intensive automotive products, because more than 300,000 people work in the automotive industry, especially in Toyota," added Bob.

TAMMIN has been exporting Toyota cars since 1987 and has delivered vehicles to nearly 100 destination countries.

In 2024, Toyota managed to export as many as 276,000 vehicles or experienced a decline compared to the previous year which amounted to 291,000 units.

However, exports to HEV resulted in 18,000 units supported by Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV. Both models contributed to 7 percent of Toyota's total car exports.
