PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) inaugurated a new Karawang Assembly Plant 2 (KAP2) factory located in the Surya Cipta Industrial Estate, in East Karawang, West Java.

The new Japanese brand-based factory was built with an area of more than 26 hectares, and this plant is to meet customer needs for the growing domestic and global automotive markets.

Inaugurated on February 27, the presence of this Japanese brand-owned factory is a form of sustainable investment commitment in the future, by presenting manufacturing technology for a more modern, environmentally friendly, and high productivity car production process.

Attended by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the inauguration, he revealed that the government appreciates PT Astra Daihatsu Motor and to Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd Japan is always committed to entrusting ADM as Daihatsu's production base outside Japan. Production capacity

The plant has a production capacity of up to 140,000 units per year. In total, the ADM plant is also capable of producing vehicles of more than 530 thousand units per year for the domestic and global market. This production capability is also supported by more than 1,700 suppliers, including 700 MSMEs, as well as a localization rate that reaches more than 80 percent for all vehicles produced.

President Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor Yasushi Kyoda, expressed his gratitude for opening this new factory facility for Karawang Assembly Plant 2 as a form of future sustainability investment.
