JAKARTA - PT BYD Motor Indonesia has launched Sealion 7 and Denza D9 of the sub-brand Denza for the Indonesian market through the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 some time ago.

These two cars complement the ranks of electric vehicles offered by the Chinese manufacturer, following the launch of other models such as M6, Seal, Dolphin, and Atto 3. However, this does not make the manufacturer complacent.

Head of Public Relations & Government Relations of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther T. Panjaitan ensured that his party would not stop offering the latest model for the Indonesian market.

"Pray for the models that we will issue again this year. Of course BYD never stops in just a few of these models," said Luther when met by the media in Bandung, West Java, Wednesday, February 26.

He also said that his party would launch the latest model from various segments for the national market. Unfortunately, he did not provide details regarding the latest car.

"Currently we have brought six line-ups. But there are still several segments that we have not filled in. Both in premium and entry-level. We are slowly adopting and launching according to market needs and acceptance," added Luther.

Currently, BYD only sells electric vehicle lines for the Indonesian market. However, it is possible that the manufacturer will introduce hybrid lines to the national market.

Not long ago, the manufacturer was reported to have registered a design from Seal 05 DM-I in the list of Official Industrial Design News No. 12/DI/2025 released by the Directorate of Copyright and Industrial Design of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia.

The car carries plug-in hybrid technology and has been sold for the Chinese market with a price tag of 89,900 yuan to 109,800 yuan (equivalent to Rp201 million to Rp249 million).

Luther responded that the registration of the model was aimed at avoiding acquisition or claims against the design of BYD. Unfortunately, he did not explain the details of the product further.

"That's indeed what we prioritize, at least the products that we will issue are registered first. To avoid the acquisition or claim of our designs," said Luther.
