JAKARTA - Most of the Chinese car brands are present in Indonesia by bringing electric cars, namely BYD, Zeekr and many more. But there is one brand that launches a gasoline car.

The brand is Jetour, which currently has two flagship SUVs that have been marketed in the country. The models in question are Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus which are offered with gasoline and turbo engines.

"For now, I think the existing on Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), yes, maybe several other brands focus on electric cars. But even though we are selling ICWs, they still have manifestations for electrification, yesterday our future model display was X50E," said Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia, Moch Ranggy Radisyah, when met in Bandung, West Java, Tuesday, February 25.

Furthermore, he said, currently Jetour is focusing on travel plus the mobile development segment not only for commuting purposes but also for many defense travel scenarios for consumers. He revealed, there are several reasons until now Jetour has relied on ICE cars, including the flexibility of gasoline cars without the need for additional infrastructure.

"The current ICE is for a fairly long travel requirement, and consumers are quite profitable for accessing fuel, as well as power from gasoline engines. Because we also see that there are still many advantages for gasoline engines, especially for off-road needs, so indeed, we will focus on ICE and PHEV later, but we also have a manifestation of the strategy in electrification," he added.

Ranggy said Jetour is currently focusing on the SUV segment because in China the SUV brand also has extraordinary achievements which touch the number of 1 million units, under five years.

"Our focus is on SUV brands and we also have a very clear model and roadmap champion, very solid. We have family travel series that we have launched, and future models that are off-road travel series, so indeed we focus on travel or journey for consumers, and various scenarios, urban, rural, off-road, we develop products according to each scenario," concluded Ranggy.
