Legendary Name Muncul Lagi, Toyota Officially Submits A 'Celica' Trademark

JAKARTA - Rumors of the re-born Toyota Celica have been blowing since the end of last year. The car will be placed in high-performance cars from the Gazoo Racing (GR) division.

As VOI has reported, Toyota Vice President Yuki Nakajima indirectly revealed that Toyota is seriously considering developing Celica's eighth generation.

The bright spot regarding the return of this iconic name is increasingly visible after the 'GR Celica' trademark has been proposed in Brazil. Of course this is good news for high-performance car fans around the world.

Launching from Motor1, Wednesday, February 12, the trademark GR Celica was submitted on January 15 and published this month. Unfortunately, the document did not explain further details.

Moreover, the trademark of GR Celica is known to have not been submitted in other countries or if any, has not been published to the timeline.

Previously, Toyota was reported to have proposed the trademark worldwide including the United States (US) with its filing status 2021 and published in November 2024. This made the rumors of the return of the legendary model even stronger.

Although the certainty is still a question mark, it is estimated that GR Celica will be in a couple style with two front engines and adopt the same GR-Four movers as GR Corolla and GR Yaris.

It is stated that GR Celica will have a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that has a power of 395 cellphones while completing the GR line from Toyota, following GR86, GR Supra, GR Corolla, and GR Yaris.
