JAKARTA - British automotive manufacturer Morris Garage (MG) announced it will launch a software update on the ZS Hybrid+ model to address powertrain problems in Australia.
Launching from CarExpert, Friday, January 24, the update was made to overcome the SUV's almost exhausted hybrid battery, causing its power distribution to be drastically reduced.
Thus, the car has the potential to not have the capable to overtake safely or comfortably while climbing at a steep incline.
Head of Product MG Motor Australia, Akshat Ahuja said this step is also a form of his party's commitment to continue to improve driving experience for owners of ZS Hybrid+.
"We focus on improving the distribution of energy in various driving conditions to ensure that every trip in ZS Hybrid+ is efficient while providing energy when needed," he said.
The brand says the powertrain on the ZS Hybrid+ will provide performance improvements in three different scenarios.
"Powertrain Hybrid+ will actively charge the battery when more loads on the powertrain are detected, the engine will charge the battery to maintain a moderate State of Charge (SoC)," MG wrote.

When the car is on incline, its powertrain has been re-calibrated to activate the engine when the vehicle is traveling at medium or higher speed. It balances the experience of fun driving while increasing efficiency.
When it's at a speed of more than 100 km/hour, the Hybrid+ powertrain will activate the engine to trigger sustainable power depending on the SoC system.
Although this has been updated, MG will continue to evaluate its products in order to improve the driving experience for customers. It is hoped that this update will also be present in models such as the MG 3 Hybrid+ which carries a similar powertrain.
