JAKARTA - Suzuki has officially introduced its first electric vehicle (EV), namely eVitara as well as marking the brand's first step towards globally navigating the electrification market.
Although this car will be marketed in various markets in the world, the manufacturer said the car would still be assembled at the Gujarat factory, India.
This was disclosed by the President of Suzuki Motor, Toshihiro Suzuki, who stated that all EV ranks for the global market will be produced in the country with the largest population in the world.
"In India, we will use all of our resources to build a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) ecosystem to offer our customers a clear experience," Toshihiro said as quoted by Autocar India, Wednesday, January 22.
They considered India's election as its global EV assembly base in order to take advantage of the global economic scale so that it was necessary to concentrate manufacturing in one location for the rest of the world.
"For this purpose, we chose India as a global manufacturing base because of its product quality and scale," added Toshihiro.
