Welcoming National Social Solidarity Day, Bridgestone Indonesia Again Holds Mass Blood Donor

KARAWANG PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia (Bridgestone Indonesia) held its 25th blood donation activity at Bekasi and Karawang factories on 17 and 23 December 2024, coinciding with National Social Solidarity Day which is celebrated every December 20.

This event involved employees, contractor workers, and the community around the company, with a total of 860 bags of blood handed over to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Majalengka Regency Branch and Cianjur Regency.

This event demonstrates PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia's commitment to supporting public health and reflects the core value of Empowerment or empowerment of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment sustainability campaign.

"This routine blood donation program not only saves lives, but also strengthens the spirit of togetherness and social concern for the community, especially in Majalengka Regency, West Java. We are proud to be able to continue to contribute to the community through this activity because Cianjur Regency and Majalengka Regency need a lot of stock of blood bags in West Java province," said Head of Human Resources & General Affairs Bridgestone Indonesia, Respati Bayu Aji, in a media release received on Monday, January 20.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PMI Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) of Cianjur Regency, Susilawati, appreciated Bridgestone Indonesia's contribution to increase the stock of blood bags in Cianjur Regency.

"This activity really helps PMI Cianjur Regency, because PMI Cianjur Regency requires a blood bag stock of 1,800 to 2,500 per month," said Susilawati.

He added that the benefits of blood donation for donors include helping the regeneration process of red blood cells, reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke and blood clotting.
