This Is The List Of Cars With The Highest Safety Version Of The Euro NCAP During 2024

JAKARTA - The European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) released a list of cars with the best safety and security in each class that has been tested in 2024.

Throughout the past year, five cars from China, Germany and Japan have set safety standards for their vehicles and the winner of the best Euro NCAP safety performance overall in 2024 are Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Then there are also other winners from Skolda Superb, VW Passat, Mazda CX-80, and Zeekr X.

NCAP's General Euro Secretary, Dr. Michiel van Ratingen said this result was a commitment from manufacturers to bring vehicles with the highest safety.

"Given the difficult economy, the Euro NCAP feels very encouraged because automakers continue to put a significant emphasis on safety innovation and equip cars with the latest safety systems. This firmly places consumer safety at the forefront in car design, as it should be," van Ratingen said on the official website of Euro NCAP, Friday, January 17.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class managed to get the best overall safety performance from Euro NCAP in 2024 with the highest score in four assessments, namely Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road User, and Safety Assist.

This executive sedan managed to get a value of 92 percent in the Adult Occupant, then Child Occupant with 90 percent, Vulnerable Road User with 84 percent, and Safety Assist with up to 87 percent.

Meanwhile, from the best category for large SUVs, Mazda CX-80 got the highest score by successfully beating Audi Q6 e-tron. The car with seven seats got a value of 92 percent in the Adult Occupant, then Child Occupant by 88 percent, Vulnerable Road User by 84 percent, and 79 percent in the Safety Assist assessment.

Small SUVs dominated testing this year with 20 out of a total of 44 cars tested by Euro NCAP coming from this class and the winners were Zeekr X from China who outperformed rival vehicles from European manufacturers. However, not far behind them are newcomers to the market, Deepal S07, Porsche Macan, Cupra Tavascan, MG HS, Toyota C-HR, Volvo EX30, and XPENG G6.

Zeekr X also won the "Best in Class" award for the safest pure electric car in 2024. Zeekr X scored 91 percent in the Adult Occupant category, 90 percent for Child Occupant, then 84 percent in the VPerable Road User assessment, and Safety Assist 83 percent.

Then, Skolda Superb and VW Passat both won the Large Family Car class with an Adult Occupant assessment reaching 93 percent, then Child Occupant 87 percent, Vulnerable Road Users to 82 percent, and Safety Assist to 80 percent.
