76 Thousand More Units Sold, BYD Prints Sales Record In Brazil In 2024

JAKARTA - BYD recorded an extraordinary sales achievement in Brazil in 2024, or an increase of up to 327.66 percent compared to the previous year (2023).

Based on a report from Carnewschina, quoted Monday, January 6, BYD has registered 76,713 car sales in Brazil throughout 2024, up from the previous year which only recorded 17,937 units.

BYD Dolphin special edition became the best-selling Chinese brand car in Brazil, and the model comes with several variants such as Dolphin Plus, to Diamond.

With the numbers above, of course, Brazil is a large overseas market for BYD, and the brand presents a wide selection, ranging from SUVs, hatchbacks to pickups that are quite in demand in the country.

If referring to Brazil's official BYD website, the brand is currently selling BYD Yuan UP, BYD Seal, BYD Han BYD Shark and much more.

In addition to increased sales, BYD is also claimed to be the fastest investment growth in the country between other Chinese electric car manufacturers, even in the last two years.

According to statistics by the Brazilian government, the BYD plant in Camabaria, Bahia state, can increase production capacity by up to 300,000 vehicles per year. In addition, BYD also plans to continue to add its official dealer network in various regions.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia the brand from China has presented a total of four models, ranging from Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal to M6. Speaking of sales in Indonesia, referring to the Association of Motor Vehicle Industries (Gaikindo) at the end of December 2024, BYD sales reached 13,866 units.
