Want To Be Injected Dead, Suzuki Ignis Given A Big Discount In Australia

JAKARTA - The Suzuki Ignis model has been injected dead in several markets, including Indonesia and now seems to be continuing to several markets such as Australia.

This is evidenced by a manufacturer that gave him a big discount for the Land of Kangaroo. One of Suzuki's dealers in New South Wales gave him a discount of up to 2,695 US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 27.9 million.

Launching from CarExpert, Thursday, November 21, the dealer, located in Southern Sydney, offers an Ignis GL model in 2023 with automatic transmission. With this discount, the car is priced at 22,500 Australian dollars (IDR 233 million).

It was reported that the dealer provided 10 cars and all of them were equipped with metallic paint. Not only that, buyers can get original Suzuki accessories for free worth 500 US dollars (IDR 5.178 million) for the purchase of this car.

Previously reported by VOI, this compact-dimensional car will meet its dusk in the Australian market due to a lack of major active safety technology. This is standard in all the latest vehicles in the country.

One of the reasons for the discontinued production is the lack of an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system.

The AEB system will brake to prevent collisions from behind or pedestrians if the driver makes an omission. This feature will be mandatory in all new passenger vehicles in Australia starting March 2025.

A number of new models introduced since March 2025 are required to have this technology in the country. However, the cars that have been presented at the showroom have been given time to improve in order to comply with the rules.

Sales from this model are also not impressive. Last October, Suzuki Ignis sold 1,540 units in the country, down 23 percent compared to last year in the same period.

For this market, Suzuki Ignis offers a 4-cylinder 1.2 liter naturally-assisted engine that produces 66 kW of power and 120 Nm of torque assisted by front wheels through CVT transmission and a manual five acceleration.
