JAKARTA - multinational automotive company Stellantis NV inaugurated the launch of its newest platform called STLA Frame for pickup trucks and SUVs.

This platform is designed for multi-energy vehicles consisting of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) to Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV).

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said the architecture has advantages for future vehicles by offering the best range, payload, and crane capabilities in its class.

Like STLA Medium and STLA Large, STLA Frame combines an unprecedented suite of products with new levels of capability and performance to offer the best range, payload and cranes in its class to our customers who need reliable and powerful trucks and SUVs, to transport their families or strengthen their business, Tavares said in an official company broadcast, Thursday, November 21.

The Portuguese man also confirmed that the platform would soon be present in several vehicles for heavy work, including from Jeep and Ram brands.

"We are proud of the magic of this technique and look forward to making it happen in our upcoming product explosions on Jeep and Ram," added Tavares.

According to Stellantis, this architecture offers outstanding performance by offering the top range of up to 1,100 km for REEV and 800 km for pure BEV. Designed firmly, vehicles with this platform can offer a maximum towing capacity of up to 6.3 tons and a payload of 1.2 tons.

In addition, the platform has high flexibility and can support various powertrains other than BEV and REEV, namely combustion engines (ICE), hybrids, and hydrogen in the future.

STLA Frame is designed with advanced, high-power steel, which provides increased durability and stiffness with a lighter weight.

The platform has a wider center, making it possible to store battery units with reinforced rails to protect batteries in the event of side clashes.

It accommodates battery packages with a capacity of between 159 kWh and more than 200 kWh. The system is also designed to receive energy storage technology in the future so that it can adapt to systems in the future.

Stellantis also designed it by accommodating the electric motor/machine powered by 250 kW of all wheels (AWD), thus allowing vehicles to run from 0 to 97 km/hour in 4.4 seconds.

Not only impressive in performance, STLA Frame also has advantages in control by offering flexible designs for a number of suspensions, including air-suspension which offers optimal driving in various conditions and charge scenarios.
