JAKARTA - A car manufacturer from China, namely Xpeng, continues to expand to the global market, is now expanding its market in Europe with launches in Spain and Portugal.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Monday, September 30, this Chinese brand immediately brought three models at once starting from the G9, G6, and P7 models.

"In Spain Xpeng received 650 reservations for test drive on launch day in Madrid on September 25," the company said in a statement.

For the Spanish market, Xpeng partnered with Salvador Caetano, the largest automotive group on the Iberian Peninsula. Later, Xpeng will build a network of dealers in Spain covering several areas, such as Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Malaga.

In addition, Xpeng will also build a network of six dealers in Portugal, with a target of 15 dealers by the end of the year by 2025.

As is known, Xpeng exported a number of vehicles to Norway by the end of 2020, marking its first launch on the European market. The company halted its expansion overseas in the second half of 2022, but restarted the effort in early 2023.

"Spain, the country with the fourth largest economy in the European Union, is an important choice for Chinese automakers who want to increase overseas sales," the company added in a statement.

The company also revealed that the Portuguese auto market has shown strong sales growth in recent years.
