JAKARTA - Chinese automotive manufacturer Leapmotor will soon start its work in the European market by opening orders for city cars and SUVs by utilizing assistance from its partner, Stellantis.

Launching from Reuters, Wednesday, September 25, the brand will provide a compact T03 model by the end of September with prices starting at 18,900 euros (319.8 million). Meanwhile, the C10 SUV is available for the blue continent in October starting from 36,400 euros (Rp616 million).

Even more interesting, the two models will be assembled in Europe at a factory owned by Stellantis in Tychy, Poland. This step was taken to avoid high European Union rates on electric vehicles imported from China.

Leapmotors will become brands from other Stellantis camps that will expand the reach of electric vehicles globally in line with their efforts to continue to electrify and seek to comply with EU regulations when global demand for EVs is sluggish.

Stellantis has held 51 percent stake in Leapmotor International and has exclusive rights to build, export and sell products outside China.

The brand will utilize Stellantis distribution channels and launches in Europe consisting of France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Greece, and Romania.
