BYD Officially Enters Pakistan Market With Three Mainstay Models

JAKARTA - Build Your Dream (BYD) continues to expand its presence in the global market, now the successful Chinese brand in its environmentally friendly car is officially entering the Pakistan market.

Launching Reuters, Monday, August 19, BYD brought three models at once in the Pakistani automotive market which was introduced on August 17, consisting of Dolphin, the Atto 3 SUV and the Seal sedan, the same as the first three models introduced in Indonesia.

For the sake of continuing to penetrate Pakistan's market, BYD has partnered with Mega Conglomerate Pvt, one of Pakistan's largest business groups. According to a Bloomberg report, the deal made also consists of a network of dealers in the market.

Meanwhile, sales of BYD electric cars in Pakistan will only begin in the fourth quarter, and the Chinese brand will set up exhibition spaces in several cities.

Not only presenting a variety of electric cars, it is reported that BYD also plans to set up a factory in Pakistan with production set to begin in 2026. Although BYD has confirmed plans to enter Pakistan's market, they declined to comment on the plant.

The BYD plant in Pakistan is rumored to be built near the port of Qasim in Karachi, which has been the site of an assembly plant for Japanese and Korean car companies including Toyota, Suzuki, and Kia.

As additional information, BYD has entered more than 80 markets globally. In July, BYD opened its first fully owned factory overseas in Thailand with the company's production of its 8 million new energy vehicle. BYD also owns a JV plant in Uzbekistan and a factory under construction in Indonesia.
