Chery Omoda E5 Rises Leave, Record Highest Sales In The Last Two Months

Chery announced the positive achievement of its electric car sales, Omoda E5, in Indonesia.

Based on official data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), Chery Omoda E5 managed to maintain its position as the best-selling electric car in all segments for two consecutive months.

Total retail sales reached 752 units in May 2024, up from 506 units in April 2024. Chery Omoda E5's wholesale sales in May were also the highest in all segments, with a total of 755 units.

"Based on this achievement data, it is proven that the Chery Omoda E5 has been able to quickly gain the trust of Indonesian consumers since it first arrived at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2023," said Head of Brand Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia Rifkie Setiawan, through an official statement, Friday, June 21.

This achievement confirmed Chery's position as a major player in the fast-growing electric car industry in Indonesia. The electric car market in Indonesia shows a positive trend, driven by increased public awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly vehicles and government support through various incentives.

"From that point we built consumer confidence for the Chery Omoda E5. As a result, we were able to lead retail sales in April and May, as well as wholesales sales in May according to GAIKINDO data," added Rifkie.

Chery claims that Omoda E5's high demand is driven by several advantages, such as futuristic, sporty, and very fashionable performances.

In addition, Chery has brought interesting updates to the Omoda E5, including a new variant with an all-black interior (Black Interior) and an innovative Car Link O application. The All Black interior gives an elegant, sporty, and masculine impression, while the Car Link O app allows users to control various car functions via smartphones.

Currently, the Chery Omoda E5 is priced at IDR 488.8 million for the first 4,000 consumers. The 4,000 consumers also get special benefits in the form of life-long guarantees for batteries and Power Motor Controller, free insurance for one year, and free Car Link O application updates.
