Will Launch The First Electric Car, Chery Ensures Ready To Build Charging Station Facilities

Chery confirmed that it will launch its first electric car in early 2024, namely Omoda E5, and will also build a charging ecosystem in the dier network.

This was revealed by Aftersales Manager of Chery Sales Indonesia, Reza Deniar, he said that talking about EVs would definitely lead to the ecosystem.

"Currently we are building an ecosystem not only for Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU), but also for home charging," he said, when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 6.

Furthermore, he said that currently Chery already has several candidate dealers, and most likely the construction of the SPKLU will cooperate with the vendor, related and it will gradually begin this month.

"For SPKLU, currently we already have several candidates because yesterday we rolled off there are principals or partners who already have SPKLU who want to cooperate with Chery," he added.

On the same occasion, Harry Kamora, Vice President of Chery Sales Indonesia, said that for dealers who have SPKLU, they will be selected, so not all Chery dealers in Jabodetabek will implement this.

"Because after all this EV is something different so there are facilities that must be prepared. If the SPK, it can be done. If the facility refers to the dealers who are ready," said Harry.

Reza added that the plan to distribute SPKLU development will be carried out in stages, from December onwards to all areas of Java.

"Because we know that our car has very good range, 61 kW or 450 km. Automatically from Jabodetabek it can reach Surabaya. Hopefully there will be no obstacles, hopefully this month we will start," concluded Reza.
