JAKARTA - The automotive industry in Indonesia is currently enlivened by many models carrying hybrid technology. Suzuki is one of the vehicle manufacturers that is aggressively marketing these products in the country.
PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), as a distributor of Suzuki vehicles in Indonesia, presents three products that carry the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system, such as All New Grand Vitara, All New Ertiga, and XL7 Hybrid.
According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) in October 2023, the Japanese manufacturer's hybrid product was dominated by models in the Low Sport Utility Vehicle (LSUV) segment, XL7 Hybrid.
During October 2023, the model won 5,240 sales figures since its launch in June. This figure is better than the other two models, namely the All New Ertiga Hybrid with 4,779 units and the All New Grand Vitara with 1,310 units.
Responding to this, Donny Saputra, 4W Head of Marketing of PT SIS, said that the increase in sales of XL7 Hybrids was because the product had just been launched so that the interest continued to be expected by the end of the year.
"Because the new product that we just launched in June this year, of course, the interest is still very large until the end of the year," Donny said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 28.

Although another hybrid model sales lag behind, Donny said that the public's response to this technology was positive and played a role in boosting Suzuki's sales in Indonesia during 2023.
"In terms of volume, XL7 is currently big, but overall consumer acceptance of Suzuki SHVS is very good," concluded Donny.
