Veda Ega Ready to Face the French Grand Prix after Ganas in Spain

JAKARTA - Veda Ega Pratama immediately shifted his focus to the French Moto3 race after performing well in the Spanish Grand Prix at the Jerez Circuit on Sunday, April 26, 2026, WIB afternoon.

The racer from Gunungkidul said that he still needs to improve a lot, but the results at the Spanish Grand Prix can be a strong capital for him when he goes down at the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, France, on May 10, 2026.

"There are still things that need to be improved, but I'm taking all the lessons from this weekend and I'm already looking forward to the race at Le Mans," Veda said in a statement received.

Veda started the race from 17th position in the Spanish Grand Prix. However, he managed to leap up 11 positions and finish in sixth place.

The success of securing 10 points in Jerez was a proof for Veda after failing to score points at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, USA.

Veda had to start the race from the back row in Spain following a fall during the Qualifying session. However, the Honda Team Asia rider was able to perform aggressively from the start of the race and immediately joined the top 10 group.

"This was a very positive race for me. I had a good start and was able to immediately join the group fighting for the top 10," he said.

Veda was hampered by a drop in the performance of the rear tire which made it difficult to maintain speed. However, he was able to control the situation and win a tight competition against Valentin Perrone and David Almansa to lock in sixth place.

The 17-year-old racer finished with a time difference of 10.027 seconds from race winner Maximo Quiles who finished with a time of 33 minutes 23.556 seconds. Adrian Fernandez followed in second place and the third podium was taken by David Munoz.

The result in Spain makes Veda now have 37 points from the four races that have been held. That number makes him sit in sixth place in the standings, 53 points behind Quiles in the top spot.
