JAKARTA - Indonesian fighter Yudi Cahyadi is confirmed to fight in Road to UFC Season 5 to win a contract ticket with the world's largest mixed martial arts promotion organization.

Yudi is scheduled to face China's Xie Bin in the non-turnaround featherweight class in the UFC Fight Night series: Song versus Figueiredo, which takes place in late May 2026 in Macau, China.

"Of course, I am very proud, especially for myself, my family, very proud and for my camp Bandung Fighting Club as well as the region and for Indonesia. I have to be able to give my best," said the One Pride graduate in Jakarta.

To get a contract from the UFC, Yudi must win the match. There are UFC people who will monitor directly to Macau to ensure the performance of who is worthy of being offered a partnership.

The path taken by Yudi is different from conventional tournaments, where fighters have to go through a long elimination round like Jeka Saragih before. However, the fighter nicknamed Sanda will get a tough test from his opponent.

"He is a good fighter for sure because he fights through the nonturning path. In addition, he also defeated Angga, one of the One Pride athletes," said Yudi.

On paper, Xie Bin is no pushover. The fighter has been training intensively at the UFC Performance Institute (UFC PI) facility for the past five years.

Chairman of the Indonesian Martial Arts Committee (KOBI), Ardi Bakrie, appreciates Yudi's success in breaking into the UFC selection exchange. He assessed that this is proof that the One Pride fighter's standards have now been monitored directly by the UFC team.

"We will continue to open opportunities for local fighters. Not only appearing in the country, but showing their courage to the UFC stage," he said.

Yudi also appeared in One Pride MMA Fight Night 89 at HW Superhouse, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. He went into the octagon against Ajuldihamro Simbolon for the featherweight belt.
