Indonesian NOC President Appreciates Indonesian Field Hockey Team Qualified for the 2026 Asian Games

The Indonesian Field Hockey National Team managed to secure a ticket to the 2026 Asian Games final round (doc. Indonesian Field Hockey National Team).

JAKARTA - The President of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI/NOC Indonesia), Raja Sapta Oktohari, expressed his appreciation for the success of the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey National Team (National Team) in advancing to the semifinals of the 2026 Asian Games Qualification round and winning a ticket to the largest multi-event in Asia which will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

"Congratulations on the success of the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey Team in advancing to the semifinals and securing a ticket to the 2026 Asian Games. I also congratulate you on joining the Indonesian Contingent," said Okto, his nickname.

With this success, the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey Team recorded for the second time to qualify for the Asian Games through the qualifying round.

Previously, the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey National Team qualified from the qualifying round when appearing at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Okto also hopes that the Indonesian Women's Field Hockey National Team can follow in the footsteps of the men's team when they appear in the 2026 Asian Games Qualification round which takes place at the Senayan Hockey Field, Jakarta, 20-30 April 2026.

The Indonesian Men's Field Hockey National Team stepped into the semifinals and sealed a ticket to the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Thailand with a score of 1-0 in the last match of Pool A Qualification which took place at the Royal Thai Air Force Hockey Field, Bangkok, Thailand, Monday, April 6, 2026.

In the semifinal match to be played on Friday, April 9, 2026, the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey National Team will face the leader of Pool B, Sri Lanka, who appeared unbeaten with 12 points. Meanwhile, Oman will face Pool B runner-up, Uzbekistan, who bagged five points.

"Hopefully the Indonesian Men's Field Hockey National Team can advance to the final and win the title at the 2026 Asian Games Qualification," concluded Okto.
