Cesc Fabregas Presents Como's Victory to the Late Michael Bambang Hartono

JAKARTA - Como 1907 coach Cesc Fabregas dedicated his team's victory over Pisa to the late club owner, Michael Bambang Hartono, who died just last Thursday (19/3).

Como won a landslide 5-0 over Pisa in the 30th week of the 2025/26 Italian League at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium, Sunday.

"Today is a very important victory. We lost a very important person at the club, but we are here thanks to people who believe in the club, in this city," Fabregas said in comments after the match, quoted by Antara via DAZN.

"We must not forget it. It must be remembered with love, a victory for Michael and the entire Hartono family," he added.

The former Barcelona midfielder said he and his players were aware that this match would be very different, given the atmosphere of mourning that enveloped the Italian club.

Therefore, he was very satisfied with the performance of his students who he considered attacking well for the first two goals and were quite consistent to play smart to win five goals without reply.

"I want to express my condolences to the Hartono family for what they have given to our city and club," he said.

Before the match started, all elements of the stadium fell silent for a minute as a final tribute to the late Bambang Hartonoyang who died in Singapore last Thursday (19/3).

Comosaat is currently in one of their best periods after having fallen to the fourth division of Italian football before being acquired by the Djarum group through SENT Entertainment with a value of around 800 thousand euros or equivalent to Rp. 12.5 billion.

Since then, Como has shown rapid development by soaring three classes in five years. They won Serie C in 2021 and finally returned to Serie A after a 21-year wait.

Under Fabregas' direction, Como has now emerged as a competitive team populated by many talented young players. This season, they were even able to compete at the top of the standings and open up the opportunity to appear in the Champions League.

"The atmosphere is very good, people are happy, and we all want more, but they are enjoying the journey. Six or seven years ago we were a team in Serie D, now they are making progress. It's hard not to fall in love with these young players," said Fabregas.

"We achieved what we set out to do two years ago. We know where we want to go and how we want to do it, that's very important to me," he concluded.
