JAKARTA - The Indonesian Kickboxing Central Management (PP KBI) asked all the Provincial Management (Pengprov) of KBI to remain restrained in responding to the flow of information that has recently triggered commotion.

The General Chair of the PP KBI, Ngatino, emphasized that every step of the organization must be based on the Articles of Association and the House of Representatives (AD/ART), especially ahead of the National Congress (Munas) which will determine the direction of the next four years.

"The narrative circulating in the public space is not entirely based on facts. Some are even delivered without confirmation to the PP KBI," said Ngatino at a press conference in Jakara.

He emphasized that no decisions were born out of personal or group interests and that all mechanisms were taken for the benefit of athletes and the kickboxing ecosystem.

Ngatino said that the dynamics of the organization were normal, but when differences were drawn into the public without referring to the organization's constitution, then those who were harmed were not only the managers but also athletes, coaches, and referees.

"All strategic decisions are made through the mechanisms regulated by the AD/ART and organizational regulations," he said.

This highlights the forum in the name of National Silaturahmi from the Provincial Management some time ago to ask the Munas committee to be canceled. The PP KBI then stated that it was an illegal act.

"Social gatherings are not prohibited. If it is on behalf of the Provincial Government from all over Indonesia, then all of them should be invited. It should be understood that social gatherings are not decision-making forums. The legitimate ones are the National Congress, the National Congress, and the Plenary Meeting," said Ngatino.

Ngatino ensured that no one was disturbed regarding the agenda of the branch sports congress that he led. He referred to the mandate of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on December 1, 2025 which entrusted the formation of the congress committee and the screening committee for the future general chairman.

"If the National Working Meeting has given a mandate and we do not carry it out, it is we who are wrong," he said.

Ngatino also denied that the National Congress committee was formed with the aim of leading Maman Abdurrahman as the general election candidate so that the National Gathering was held to thwart it.

He said that the public could assume, but it was clear that the screening process was underway and would be reported to the forum according to the mechanism.

"Whether there will be many candidates or not, it will be seen from the existing support," he said.

Ngatino reminded that the national kickboxing journey is not short. From a sport that was almost overlooked, it has now appeared at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games and the Asian Games.

"Don't sacrifice what has been built from the bottom up with great difficulty," he said.

He also said that the dynamics in the country were still being monitored by the Confederation of Asian Kickboxing (AKC) and the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), especially after the controversy in Thailand which had threatened Indonesia's medal opportunities. The question, said Ngatino, could be resolved together with the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia).

"I'm not running again. I just want everything to go according to the rules and kickboxing continues to achieve and be loved by young people," he said.
